Swizzels Hill Print

A black and white charcoal street scene with a factory perched at the top of a steep hill. The Swizzels Matlow sweet factory in New Mills, Derbyshire, famous for the legendary Lovehearts is an iconic building and features in much of my work. The drawing was made on a rainy day which can be seen in the car headlights on the rain washed road and the slate rooves reflecting the sky. The view point for this piece is taken from the centre of the road to enhance the feeling of being on a rollercoaster. The road sweeps down and climbs steeply up again towards the mill with its smoking chimney at the top of the hill. Part of my New Mills Art and Derbyshire Art print collections.
