Mellor Cross

The view from Mellor Cross above the village of Mellor in Greater Manchester on the longest day of the year, as the sun sets over my home city.  A well trodden path for many, and a place to sit and take in the horizon. Winter Hill can be seen behind the Manchester skyline, with Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station and the Welsh hills in the distance. This is an accumulation of views and walks to Mellor Cross over the years. A summary of evenings spent drinking beer on the hill and watching the sun go down over the distant city.
