On the flank of the hill above the town of New Mills in Derbyshire, the road runs along the valley towards the hamlet of Brookbottom and the Fox Inn. This is a familiar walk for New Mills people, with views over to Swizzels Matlow, with Lyme Cage and the skyline of Manchester in the distance. Set back from the road, Lark Hill Cottages can be seen behind the houses, with the footpath leading over the top of the hill. The wild flowers along the grass verges were planted by the people of High Lee Road during lockdown, and are flowering still.
Part of my New Mills Art, High Peak Art and Derbyshire Art print collections. This is a commissioned piece.
